Could you please tell me how bad the mosquitoes are on Coochie….we are wanting to holiday there but have a couple of kids allergic to mossie bites.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH – IMPORTANT NOTICE.

7pm next Wednesday evening at the Community Hall, please try and attend a public meeting and meet Constable Joseph Mohr our new Neighbourhood Watch Liaison Officer. He will attempt to answer your questions, but it is time we all pulled together. Hope you can attend. If you need a lift, please ring us on 3207 8895 and it can be arranged.

Coochie Progress Special General Meeting, 7:30pm on the 19/11/2008.

The Coochie Progress Association is holding a Special General Meeting in the Lower Meeting Room of the Community Hall at 7:30pm on Wednesday, 19th of Novemeber 2008 in order to fill the current vacancies on the Management Committee.
A minimum of 15 current financial members (including proxies)are required to attend in order for the meeting to take place. Members unable to attend are encouraged to contact Caretaker President, Len Turner (3207 7709), or Caretaker Secretary, Peter Colville (3820 9728) to organize your proxy.
If we are able to fill all vacant Committee positions, a brief General Meeting will be held following the Special General Meeting in order to organize arrangements for this year\’s Christmas Eve on the Beach Celebrations.
If you are interested in joining, re-joining or in some other way becoming involved in the Coochiemudlo Island Progress Association, please contact Len or Peter for more information.

Life on Coochie

We are looking to move to Queensland in January and just stumbled across your beautiful island, but wonder how it would be living there with 3 kids and travelling to the mainland each day for school and work.

I understand that many people have a car they keep on the mainland. Where do you keep it and is it expensive?

If the kids are involved in after school or extracurricular activities can they still get transported to the ferries?

the beaches look lovely. I noticed on Macleay the beaches have “enclosures” presumably against sharks. Is this necessary on Coochie?

What’s Happening with The Coochie Progress Association?

The answer to this question that many in our community are asking is as follows:-
Due to various reasons such as previous management committee members not being prepared to continue after 2 or more years in their positions, general members not being prepared to take on the vacant positions, and the general community being either unwilling or failing to see the benefit of being involved, the Coochie Progress Association was unable to form a full management committee. As a result Caretakers for the association were appointed. The Coochie Progress Association is NOT in recess. Community events and meetings are still possible if the general members are able to gather enough members (minimum of 15)to agree to do these events & meetings. If you are interested in being involved speak to Len Turner 32077709, Peter & Kathie Colville 3820 9728, Bev Holcroft 32078315, or Paul Harris.

Moving to Coochie

Hi everyone, we (me and my husband and a little boy) just decided to move to one of the Moreton Bay Islands and Coochie seems like it would perfectly fit our lifestyle
We’re just sick of Brissie and want to get back to nature and get together with some nice people who think the same. Maybe you could give us a few tips, eg. about the easiest (and cheapest) way to move to Coochie and finding the right house (there are not many on realestate.com.au, is anyone renting privately)?
We’d really appreciate your help!
